Youtu.be launched to make video sharing easy on YouTube

YouTube has launched their own URL shorting service to make sharing videos and channels easier for those sharing it on YouTube.

On Tuesday youtu.be, YouTube launched the start of new link shorteners service. The youtu.be will only shorten YouTube video links. These links contains ID of videos they belong to this brings freedom to developers to add thumbnails, embed the videos directly and can even track how the spread of video in real-time.

The step follows the announcement by search giant Google for its goog.le and Facebook for its fb.me URL shortening services a week ago.

To use the service users need to link up their YouTube account using AutoShare with social networks and Google Readers.
YouTube depicted an example to the new shortening service:
For instant take http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdeioVndUhs and to replace use “http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=” with “http://youtu.be/” to get http://youtu.be/FdeioVndUhs. Using this shorter URL into a browser will redirects you to that video.
