Window 7 comes with a reduced speed claims Iolo technologies, company who sell pc tune up software. The report released by iolo depending on its evaluating test considers the start up point of the PC when it is fully usable.
On the contrary Microsoft has claimed Window 7 to be faster than Vista with its time to desktops as well as system is faster in recovering from hibernation and sleep.
IOlO’s test revealed that Windows 7 takes 1 minute 34 seconds to boot compared to the 1 minute 6 seconds taken by Windows Vista. Iolo also said its tests indicated that Windows 7’s startup times, like Vista’s, degrade over time. After several “commonly-used” applications have been installed on a new Windows 7 box, for instance, its boot time — again, as measured by the company — slows to two minutes, 34 seconds, an increase of 64%.
PC World, and Computerworld has also evaluated that the new operating system has starting about 10% slower than Vista when 32-bit versions of the two were compared, although it was 14% faster on 64-bit.
Iolo considers large number of applications that load with the windows 7 box as the reason why it takes a little larger booting time. It also indicates that windows 7 first load essential and basic process required to run a computer and then load the remaining once thus keeping CPU busy even after the desktop is displayed.
