Vodafone to Offer iPhone in UK from 14 Jan’2010 – It has been stated by Vodafone that it will start selling and offering iPhone in UK from 14 January, 2010. Besides this, Vodafone is amongst the UK’s major phone networks, which will be offering iPhone to customers.

For 24 months, the most non expensive tariff available is £30 per month, along with add-on handset charges varying from £59 to £239 for iPhone 3G 8GB and iPhone 3GS 32GB respectively. In addition, both business contracts and consumer contracts are addresses to a 1GB monthly data limit on mobile internet usage. Also, Orange has a fairly usage limit of 750MB per month.

Both O2 and Vodafone proffer unlimited Wi-Fi usage. While, Orange data limit involves connections made to the internet via BT Open Zone Wi-Fi. Available with a free iPhone, both O2 and Orange’s lowliest tariffs are at £34.26 and £29.36 respectively. Plus, it has a 24 month contract.

On the other hand, along with a free 3G 8GB handset, Vodafone offers £35 a month contract for a two year period time. Along with this, Tesco mobile tariffs begin at £20 a month for 12 months of time, with a £222 charge for the same model of handset. Although, Tesco stated that the much shorter contract will assure customers to upgrade more quickly and reliably.

The Chief Executive of Vodafone UK Guy Laurence stated that the company had been setting up and preparing its network for more than over a year to handle the intro of the iPhone. As compared to fixed broadband deals, there are other serious concerns that mobile networks all across the globe have been battling to cope up with the demand as more and more consumers are picking up internet enabled smartphones and mobile dongles. Besides all this, Vodafone has also brought in a charge for users liking to use their iPhones as a modem starting at £5 to download 500 MB.
