It is always good to take reviews from customers before installing anything permanent for them. Dell has initiated and has released an experimental version of Chrome OS for its Mini Inspiron 10v netbook.

Google released the source code for chromium OS last week to let developer involve themselves with these codes and produce their own versions of Chrome OS.

Dell made customizable download available through a USB key image file.
To get started
•	download the file
•	Next move the image onto flash drive.
•	Then plug it in-to Mini 10V

Dell’s blogpost disclosing about the new release makes it clear that the release may not be very stable and users should try it on their own risk

Another lag point with this release is that it takes up to 10 minutes for Chromium OS network connection manager to locate the access point to allow users to select and connect to the web. But yes wired connection would be much quicker.

Doug Anson, a technology strategist with Dell also discussed that the connection manager and underlying components can break easily or freezes so in case the situation appears reboot the system for giving it another chance.

This the experimental release not well supported but for sure there will be more to come.
