The company reappeared in the field of mobile PCs with a complete new range Olibook, consisting of four models. The goal is to offer both business and consumer solutions that are not limited to hardware but also software and services. To achieve this outcome, which parallels the path traced by Apple, Olivetti will launch a warehouse application, “a store in which you will find applications declined according to customer needs,” said the CEO. This store is not open to the public, however, as with the App Store, but will contain the applications that partners can use to complete the Olivetti offer better hardware. This is because Olivetti intends to offer a very diverse range of solutions, ranging from traditional services to software-as-a-service to get to services to consumers and virtual servers. All of exploiting the data center for Telecom Italy.

Olivetti is back in the PC world with the same CEO ,Patrizia Grieco to make the announcement with great enthusiasm but also with the awareness that they face a difficult market at a difficult time as cyclical. In this sense, states, we do not want to fight on volumes but we want to bring in business the same explosion that led to the arrival of Apple App Store in the consumer sector. Although, the company is using a different model for that.

The intent of Olivetti, new proposal, which for now is declined in a range of four laptop computers (but the number will increase within a few months), will not simply be related to the commercialization of adevice hardware. Intention is to provide a solution that includes software and services customized to clients’ needs, whether it be for business users (especially small and medium enterprises) whether home users. “Our computers are the gateway to applications and services,” says Patrizia Grieco.

On the other hand, as the tradition of the company, the channel will play an essential role in the new proposal. All 500 Italian dealers will indeed be involved in the new initiative and will become the interface with business users and, in part, even with those consumers in providing value-added solutions. But these partners will no doubt add other Olivetti is in fact in search of new systems integrators and corporate resellers, especially on the side and server solutions cloud.

The consumer will have as main interlocutor Telecom Italy, who will sell the computers Olivetti brand into new proposals that will have as their basic connectivity and communication.

Turning to products, the line Olibook which will be launched in April provides a Netbook-screen 10-inch (model M1025) and three laptops: the S1300 designed for use in the business module 13 “and low-power processor ultra low voltage, the S1500, a 15.6 “with more consumer vocation, the S1550, a corporate desktop replacement for use with Core i5 and nVidia discrete graphics. All computers, which boast a special design they use Intel CPU and operating system Windows 7. Prices should range from 300 euros to 800 euros.

In addition to other models of netbook and notebook computers, Olivetti has also anticipated the arrival in the second half of a tablet PC without keyboard and multitouch screen, which was born as a project for the consumer world but that will have an endowment that will enable hardware to be customized for use in vertical industries.

Among the first services available we have instead two proposals together under the name PC Guard and sent to data security and computer security. These Anti Theft, which follows directly from an idea born from the laboratories of Intel hardware and providing a blockade so that only the owner can access the contents of your computer and data encryption, which encodes all data stored nel’hard disk. These services will be added by year-end data recovery, based on storing important information on secure servers Olivetti and Telecom Italy.

Google Chrome OS netbook specs are out, specs comes from some unnamed source as reported via IBTimes. There is no official Google stamps over these specs so we can categories them under live humors. But no doubt these specs if true are as such to be liked by one and all.

The Google netbook will engage chipset from Nvidia’s Tegra line and powered by ARM CPU instead of widely used Intel. ARM’s CPU performs better than Intel Atom with comparatively less power consumption.

Very obvious the netbooks will run on Chrome OS, which itself is reporting good reviews. This is Google netbook we are talking about so it will reportedly also come with preinstalled Google apps such as Google Map, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calender and Google Search by Voice.

Rumored specs of Google netbook include a 10.1-inch TFT HD-ready multi-touch display. It is also reported in IBTimes that it would come with 64GB SSD and not those HDD.

Some other features includes a 2 GB RAM with Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, Ethernet Port, USB ports, webcam, 3.5 mm audio jack, multi card readers and much more.

To see the fully-fledged Google netbook we may have to wait for 2010 holiday season when it is expected that Google will launch the product.

So we talked about the humored specs and expected release date, now let’s have a look at the market rumor for this Google netbook’s price tag. Present market rumors says “the Google netbook will be subsidised (the device will reportedly sport a sub-$300 price tag) and sold directly to consumers by Google”.

Some also expects Google to sell the product as a rival to Nokia Booklet 3G. According to them, Google will tie up with one or more network operators in countries like US to sell the netbook as part of a bundled 3G plan.
