“The rumors are not true, that Intel is no plan for withdrawal from the use Celeron brand in 2011. Intel Celeron processors are inexpensive solutions to meet the primary needs in computers “, – formulated the position of the company’s Sam Barry (Barry Sum), Intel spokesman in Hong Kong.

For a long time Intel has used the mark for low-cost Celeron processors used in desktop and mobile computers. And now in the range company has a model pertaining to both categories.

For desktop processors are dual-core models designed for clock frequencies from 2.4 to 2.6 GHz. Prices for them are in the range $ 43 – $ 53.

Three times more than the Mobile versions . They have one or two cores, and operate at frequencies from 1.06 to 2.2 GHz. Prices range covered by mobile processors Celeron, lies within the boundaries of $ 70 – $ 100.

Intel marks its participation at Computex Taipei with the official launch of the forthcoming Intel Oak Trail, a SoC with low power consumption and support for Full HD. It is particularly attractive not only for the ability to play multimedia content in Full HD 1080p smoothly but also because it is now among the most wanted feature on mobile devices for the HDMI support and the passive cooling.

Starting from early next year, Intel will make available the new SoC (System on Chip) Oak Trail, a processor specifically designed for use on tablet PCs and similar devices, but probably also on netbooks.

On the consumption side, the expectations are very high considering that the initial information, the TDP should have a value less than about 40% compared to current solutions Atom. This figure will reflect substantial autonomy system that looks extremely interesting.

In addition, this SoC architecture should ensure the possibility of producing thinner and more portable device. Regarding operating systems, Oak Trail natively support Windows 7 butMeego and Android Google (there is also the future to support Chrome OS ).

Intel Oak Trail is a particularly versatile platform, therefore, with the integration of chips Lincroft and Whitney Point. The SoC is intended to be used as a starting point for mobile devices par excellence, for example, tablet, where range and performance go hand in hand.

In fact, considering the development that these devices are having lately, it is clear that a new and more efficient solution might be the key to an improvement in performance and battery life , often at the center of discontent specific user.

Google has announced Google TV, an alliance with Sony, Logitech and Intel. Google will provide the software, embedded in the TV, to run over his many free services, starting with its search engine.

Google will be the first to market “Google TV”. Sony has dreamed, but Google eventually did it. Recognizing its incapability to innovate at the speed of the web, Sony prefers to rely on Internet technology from Google to its next generation of connected TVs. The Japanese, who learned from its defeat against Apple on the digital player market, put an end to its web platform project, named Bravia Internet.

Its exclusive alliance with the search engine, Sony will be the first to market televisions Google TV – the new name of Sony Internet TV – in the fall in the U.S., and later in 2011 continental Europe.

Sony Bravia TVs are really linked to the Internet web, but so primitive compared to this new line of televisions that Sony develop for a year with Google. The Sony Internet TV, the entire television and the entire web in a single television, and with much better visual interface in Sony’s previous products. Sony had no reluctance to transmigrate to this new open platform.

Intel, Google and Sony are expected to announce a joint initiative around the television set, a new platform called “Smart TV” says the Financial Times.

The three groups each would bring their skills to make television an object “intelligent” and connected to the Internet. Intel brings its Atom processor, Google’s Android system and Sony TVs.

Logitech, the electronics firm has announced its new set top box, the first piece of kit to really be marketed under the Google TV equipment brand. Google TV set top box will come with an Intel CE4100 atom based processor, two HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, 4GB of storage, two USB ports and Dolby 5.0 to complete the basic specs.

Intel intends to bring wireless display technology to other mobile devices. The website engadget has revealed this tidbit news. According to the site, Intel is right now busy in planning to bring its wireless display technology (a.k.a. WiDi) to netbooks, tablets and other mobile devices. The information revealed to Engadget by Intel wireless display product manager Kerry Forrell, who says that “we fully expect to take the technology there,” but that he can’t yet provide a specific time frame. Those plans are further backed up by Intel CEO Paul Otellini himself, who told investors this week that “what we’ll be doing over the next few years is take the Wi-Di capability that’s in the laptop today and extend that into all the Intel platforms.”

The company’s main focus is to spread Wi-Di and make it easier to use. Currently, a wireless receiver box needs to be attached to the TV. Forrell said eventually the wireless functionality could be integrated into TVs.
“We will over time add this as a function to multifunction devices including TVs,” he said.

Analysts predict rapid growth vied mobile market, most of which use processors with ARM-architecture produced under license from the same company. Since filing the British resource London Evening Standard yesterday web rumors about the interest of Apple to acquire stake in ARM Holdings. Against this backdrop, the stock price last company soared, and nearly five million shares changed their owners by the middle of the trading session on the London Stock Exchange. In theory, Apple’s purchase of ARM may make sense, because the company is actively selling mobile devices based on processors with the appropriate architecture. After gaining control of the intellectual property of ARM, Apple will be able to block access to ARM-architecture of all other producers of processors. This is the “sole motive” may dominate under such a transaction, because the technical requirements of this absorption is not.

This market segment was interested in the company Intel, which plans to offer for similar device processors with x86-compatible architecture. AMD is trying to take a place in this market segment through its hybrid processor architecture, Bobcat, which will be used for the production of tablet PCs.

Representatives of ARM Holdings in the comments by the British media have admitted that to get access to their development rather buy a license, rather than buying the entire company as a whole. Recall that in 2008 Apple has acquired PA Semi, that by its engineers to develop a processor, which, presumably, now part of the Tablet PC iPad. Official comment on the possible acquisition of ARM Holdings by Apple, given by both parties, amounted to a denial of such negotiations.

The system will be called “Google TV”, will be made by Sony and powered by Intel chips. It has built a prototype set-top box, that allows users to browse the internet through their television screens do things such as download movies and television shows. The “Google TV” however will also come in the form of actual TV sets.

Along with regular television there will also be Hulu, YouTube and other web-video sources, along with games and apps for social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.Google TV, will essentially be a big-screen living-room computer.

With this, Google takes a lead among other players in this race like the Apple who have been trying to make people access internet through their TVs. People already with TV sets need not feel disappointed as this device can also be built into the TV. It would facilitate simultaneous viewing of TV and better access to the web, search, and social networking sites. These companies also appear to be in talks with Logitech to build peripherals like a remote control and small keyboard for the system.

The project although is being developed since long but its kept under tight wraps and its details away from the public. The GTV will run on the Android OS, Google’s open-source mobile phone operating system originally designed to run on ARM core, (the processor used in most smartphones, but has been also adapted by some companies to operate on different chip architectures such as MIPS or Intel x86) and will even have the Chrome browser built-in. Partnership with Intel ensures TV will use some form of Atom chips in it. This move was pretty obvious as TV is only one of the few advertising markets Google isn’t yet in.
It has been reported that Google has begun testing the set-top box technology though Dish Network, a satellite TV provider.

However Google’s new venture could weaken the PC industry. This is foreseen as when the people will have the internet in their television, and a tablet appliance like the iPad with them around, they would not need a desktop or even a laptop computer.
It is unclear whether this system would be launched worldwide or be designed for release in the United States only, as with some of Google’s other products.
Both papers, however, cite sources completely anonymous information and denials have come from both the Sony spokesperson and that of Google.

Google, Intel, Sony and Logitech are working together on a platform to access the Internet from television. The first services could arrive later this summer. Google TV is the name of the project on which the Mountain View giant board for several months in collaboration with Intel, Sony and Logitech.

According to the New York Times information, the idea is to design an Internet that is used as easily as you change channels. Google TV should be built directly into Sony TVs and set-top-box equipped with Intel Atom processor. Logitech is responsible for developing a remote control equipped with a keyboard. The core system is based on Android and a modified version of Chrome.

A development kit will be available in 2 months. Finally, the interface will render access to the search engine Google, to its services such as YouTube, Picasa, Gmail, social networks and applications that will probably be accessed from an online store.

For Google, investing in the small screen, it opened a new outlet for advertising by leveraging the power of its brand to bring together a rich and varied content.

Many clients have reported that they had the bad surprise to receive a crude imitation of the Intel Core i7 they had ordered to Newegg. Intel has acknowledged that at least one false Intel Core i7 circulated in the U.S. market and launched an investigation into the matter.

The case began Friday, March 5 when a client Newegg webshop specializes in computer equipment, said they had received a carbon copy of the Intel Core i7 which was ordered. In place of the quad-processor, it was left with an ordinary piece of metal, plastic mold as a heat sink and a textbook with blank pages. Newegg immediately returned a true Core i7 to the client.

The “CPUs” in question were purchased between Mar. 1, and Mar. 4, according to a Newegg statement, and have FPO/BATCH# 3938B006 printed on the packaging. “Additionally, the Part Number on the heat sink will read CNFN936612 and there will be no wiring on the heat sink itself,”

According to the site HardOCP, many buyers have been victims of this deceit. If good faith Newegg does not seem challenging, the problem is unclear. The seller says that these are demo versions that have crept in error in an order they received from a wholesaler.

But HardOCP quotes a statement sent by Intel, which indicates that it is in any sample demonstration and they had never seen before. The mystery remains unsolved, especially ‘HardOCP even said they have received threatening letters from the wholesaler involved for revealing the affair.
