Microsoft has warned, Tuesday, March 10, as hackers took advantage of a flaw, newly discovered, in versions IE 6 and IE 7 browser Internet Explorer. Hackers could then take control of computers remotely.

“We are aware of targeted attacks attempting to use this vulnerability,” said the American computer company. “We will continue to monitor this threat and will update this if the situation changes.

A flaw after another …

The new version of IE 8 and earlier versions, IE 5 is not affected, said Microsoft.

This warning comes less than two months after Microsoft had to upload a fix to a flaw in its Internet Explorer 6, which had also been exploited by hackers who attacked including Google. Still, to ensure they have the best possible protection against hackers, it is recommended to use the latest version of the browser to protect the computers.

Firefox Surpassed IE 7 as Most Popular & Used Browser – According to the Stat Counter, the open source Mozilla foundation Firefox browser will be celebrating the fact that it has overtook Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) as the world’s most popular and used browser for the first time.

This year, Internet Explorer 7 had been upgraded to IE version 8. Though, IE 8 is still not as much popular and famous as Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and thus open sauce furry mammal is world’s number one web browser. The usage of Firefox 3.5 browser is still increasing on and on, though it has been suspected that IE8 will overtake Firefox.

As Firefox has been becoming more famous and popular, some users started complaining that it’s being going slow and less reliable. Still it’s good to hear that Firefox 3.5 managed to turn as the world’s most used browser.

Instead of moving on to a release candidate, last week Mozilla had issued a fifth beta of Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 Beta 5 was released as an upgrade to current testers and has been installed by others who can download it from Mozilla’s website. In addition, the launch of Firefox 3.6 will not come out until early 2010.

Marching out IE 7 21.2%, Stat Counter revealed that Firefox 3.5 has 21.9% of the global market. Though, IE 6 and IE 8 picks up 13.9% and 20.9% of the pie, still IE wins 55.4% of the market as a whole, beating out 32.1% share contained by several versions of Firefox.

IE headed by a great margin in the US, but Firefox 3.5 surpassed Microsoft’s browser as the most used and popular in Europe over the summers. In Europe, Firefox 3.5 has 28.4% of the market, over IE8′s 21.6%, whereas in North America IE8 claimed 25%, followed by IE7 at 21.8% and then Firefox 3.5 at 21.7%.
