The mobile application search engine Bing is now available to mobile users equipped with a smartphone Android and Verizon subscription.

Bing does not ties with Yahoo. Microsoft has indeed released in the United States a free mobile application of its search engine for smartphones Google Android equipped with a subscription to Verizon.

Downloadable from the Android Market under the name Bing App, this new version of Microsoft’s search engine for the mobile internet has a home page similar to that used for computers.

Bing App loads still some nice features, like the Bing Maps mapping service and search tool Bing Voice Voice Search. The mobile application also has a feature to quickly locate wireless hotspots available.

Access to the various search tabs (Images, Videos, Shopping, News, etc.) Has been simplified and a series of practical services such as search for points of interest through geolocation (shops, cinemas, restaurants) is highlighted.Last December, Microsoft had already pulled out its mobile application Bing for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Firefox Mobile is not yet available in final release, but Mozilla has found another way to land in the iPhone and iPod Touch as it submitted application Firefox Home to Apple’s online store.

While the Mozilla Foundation denies it wants to develop a browser for an iPhone, it has just submitted the Home Firefox application for entry in App Store. Firefox Home is a free application that allows access to your Firefox desktop history, bookmarks and open tabs on your iPhone.”

In other words, data from Firefox on your computer is synced to the cloud after that Firefox Home is able to access some of that information, and open it in Mobile Safari.

To use this application users have to install Firefox sync on their PCS or laptops. Right now Mozilla is waiting for apple approval or rejection on this wonderful application. Hopefully apple will approve it because it is not a browser that will compete with safari and if at all it belongs to same league than also apple has given approval to opera mini so there is no logic to reject this great application.

U.S. authorities can begin antitrust investigation into the corporation Apple, sources (Nnewspaper The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times ( FT)) According to them, officials suspect that Apple intentionally limits the development of programs for the smartphone iPhone, iPod player and Tablet PC iPad in choosing how to write software. In particular, for about a month ago it became clear that software developers for the iPhone cannot use Flash software company Adobe to support streaming video.
The investigation into the Apple, is likely to focus on the question of whether its operating system iPhone is closed ( ie, unavailable for use by third parties.), said the source FT. Although the decision to initiate anti-trust case has not yet adopted, it is unclear even who will lead the investigation – the officials of the American Ministry of Justice or Federal Trade Commission. The final decision on this matter will be taken within a week.

Meanwhile, the founder and CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs recently decided to publicly respond to attacks from Adobe. The official blog, he said: ” Adobe says that its Flash technology is open, and our – closed. In fact, everything is exactly the opposite. The wide availability of products based on Adobe Flash does not mean, that this technology is open: its future development depends entirely on Adobe, and access to it can only return this company. Operating System, which hosted iPhone, iPod and iPad, too ” proprietary “, recognizes Jobs, Apple, one is convinced that you want to use open standards for work-related devices on the Internet, and therefore preferred to HTML5, CSS and JavaScriptiP Technologies Flash.

Another chapter has been added to the ongoing cold war between Google and Microsoft. Google has come up with a new tool to give a big advantage to its enterprise business by this latest application that it offers.

Google is offering its corporate clients a tool that facilitates the transfer of mail and calendar information from Microsoft Exchange servers to Google.

In line with the Google Apps For Business (and Education) customers sync services with Outlook and Blackberries and it introduction of a migration tool for users of Lotus Notes last year, it has now come up with Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange.

The main attraction of the announced software is that it allows simultaneous data transfer in email, calendar and contacts, including IM and video conferencing to hundreds of users and not one by one as was being done until now. The applications come in two versions one is an internal version of the browser and the other corporate versions of the software for the users.

It is designed as a centralized tool, with this it will now be possible to make the whole process of migration while users are
working, so that they practically do not realize the changes that are being implemented.

The company is determined to overtake office productivity tools world with this utility. Quoting Google Apps product manager Abhishek Bapna “It’s really fast, and that’s what distinguishes it from other tools.” The tool works with Exchange 2003 and 2007 and is available to customers of Google Apps Premier and Education Edition.

The only place that it lacks is that it does not copy the task lists in the Exchange. Google’s intention with this tool is that more and more companies migrate to the Apps service as most businesses small and (especially) large use MS Exchange servers in-house for email and to store contacts and calendars shared among employees.

This utility allows to transfer all the data to the cloud-based Apps for Business in simple four step process. It is speculated that Microsoft is not far behind in developing a similar application to rival Google’s that allows its customers to take Exchange information easily to the cloud.
