Google India has given hint that the company is busy in planning a stripped down version of nexus one for India which will offer at relatively low price. The nexus one mobile phone will not be power- packed and offers less features to Indians. Now the question arises why the lower range for the Nexus One? and how it will be helpful for Google ? The lower version of Nexus one which will be introduced shortly will definitely help Google to achieve sales target . The analysts were rave about the Nexus One. Doug Anmuth Barclays Capital estimated that Google would sell between 5 and 6 million the first year.(http://digitaldaily.allthingsd.com/20100106/google-to-sell-5-6-million-nexus-ones-in-2010/)
Goldman Sachs table to share on 3.5 million Nexus One sold in 2010. Finally, Mark Mahaney of Citigroup is a little more reserved: 1 million in the worst case, 3 million in the best case for 2010.
With a little hindsight, it seems that moving more on sales of around one million units only 5 or 6.
The opinion of Goldman Sachs analyst is a bit inflamed at the presentation of the Nexus One. He now believes that Google will be able to sell one million this year.
And we hope that the stripped down version of Nexus One will definitely help Google to increase the sales of handset because India has lots of potential for smart handsets.
