Google foray navigation with turn-by-turn uploaded Maps to navigate

The long dominated market of turn-by-turn navigation form Garnim and TomTom is finally intruded by Google with the launch of its Google Map Navigation for Android 2.0. The announcement made on Wednesday followed a drop in the share markets of both the PND’s manufactures.
Google described Google Maps Navigation (Beta) for Android 2.0 devices as an extension to its ‘Google Maps for mobile’ service. This phone-based navigation includes almost everything that any Road Warriors would like to be embedded in their GPS navigation system. One of the most enticing bite of the news it that it is free and does not cost any extra penny for its navigational feature.

One of the stared features of the new Google Map Navigation for Android 2.0 is that it was built from the ground up to take advantage of phone’s Internet connection, which helps in a much-diversified ways.

Motorola Droid first in series smartphone operating on Android 2.0 OS, has speech recognition ability that enhances the navigational feature of the new release software.

Search along route by voice is designed keeping in mind the difficulty people face in using any PND while driving. With GMN speak out your destination place (keeping voice search active) and pop-ups appears on screen with turn-by-turn navigation combined with vocal dictation of the street names. Google map includes several landmarks and guides you for a specific business by name or you can also turn on popular layers, such as gas stations, restaurants or parking along your route.
