918 spyder hybrid with truly outstanding design and high-tech motorsport achievements :Beverly Hills Porsche is glad to inform the whole world about Porsche 918 Spyder. The car has no more as a concept because it got green light for development and production. Porsche confirmed its intentions to turn this concept car into reality as a super car. Early guess about Porsche 918 spyder is that it will be priced at around $630,000.The company will disclose more details on its production in near future.

Here are the features of the car 918 spyder Hybrid :

The 918 Spyder will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid power-train

The power train t consists of two electric motors located on the front and rear axle with a combined output of 218 HP and a 3.4L V8 gasoline engine which is mid-mounted and could develop 500 HP.

The car will have estimated total power output of 718 HP

The hybrid power-train in the Porsche 918 should be able to sprint from 0 to 62 MPH in just 3.2 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 198 MPH. Porsche claims this hybrid super-car will return a fuel consumption of 78 mpg with a CO2 emissions level of just 79 g/km.

Here is the content of Official Press release from the company

“In its session today, the Supervisory Board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, gave the green light for series development of the Porsche 918 Spyder. Reflecting the overwhelming response from the public and customers to the Concept Study, the Supervisory Board gave Porsche’s Board of Management the mission to develop a production model based on the car already presented. This concept version of an ultra-high-performance mid-engined sports car with plug-in hybrid technology made its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and at Auto China in Bejing, hitting the headlines worldwide. Michael Macht, President and Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG: “Production of the 918 Spyder in a limited series proves that we are taking the right approach with Porsche Intelligent Performance featuring the combination of supreme performance and efficient drivetrain concepts. We will develop the 918 Spyder in Weissach and assemble it in Zuffenhausen. This is also a very important commitment to Germany as a manufacturing base.” The Concept Study of the 918 Spyder allows CO2 emissions of just 70 g/km, corresponding to fuel consumption of 3.0 litre/100 km (94.1 mpg imp) in the NEDC, on the one hand, and the performance of a super-sports car, on the other. This extremely efficient drivetrain technology then forms a symbiosis in the 918 Spyder with truly outstanding design and high-tech motorsport achievements. Further product details of the 918 Spyder will be disclosed in the months to come.”

New Kindle Wi-Fi has been announced that Amazon will sell at the unit price of U.S. $ 139 U.S.Amazon does not provide sales forecasts for the new Kindle, but said last week the market has tripled after the price reduction from the previous version.
“With this price level, we are beginning to have enough evidence to say that this is a mass product,” said chief executive Jeff Bezos said in an interview.

He said the sales success of the Amazon Kindle has allowed lower prices even as competitors entered the market. “We sell millions of Kindles the previous generation, and this version will sell millions,” he said. The devices, which are available for pre-order will be sent from Aug. 27

Amazon has improved the contrast of the screen of his new Kindles, but the size of 6 inches remains the same. The pages also saw faster and about 3,500 books can be stored, double the previous version. Both models have a month of battery life.

The Forrester analyst at technology reserch firm, James McQuivey said he did not expect a new Kindle before the end of the year.”This suggests that Amazon is serious when it says ” it came into this market to stay”.

In a first of kinds study to note the global changes over a long time frame the scientist made these observations. These very tiny marine beings form the first part in the food chain. A typical marine food chain proceeds as phytoplankton – zooplankton – tiny marine animals – which are prey for small fish and then other larger animals. Thus even a small decrease in the number of these tiny species is a cause of great concern as it may disrupt the food chain and eventually the ecological balance.

Even though various substances in the water can reduce its transparency but one the main ones is the concentration of chlorophyll. This is the green pigment that is key to photosynthesis in plants at sea and on land and is also present in the phytoplankton that cover most of the surface of the oceans.

The global study took three years to finish and were done taking the help of satellite measurements to find out the color of the oceans. The higher quality data available since 1950 using earlier shipboard analysis of water samples and recently the images from satellites the team has calculated that since that time, the world has seen a phytoplankton decline of about 40%.

Even though most of the regions around the world show a decline in the population of planktons, the results are not steady. There are exceptions where the population has on the contrary increased. One of such regions is the Indian ocean. Increases are also seen in the coastal zones where fertiliser run-off from agricultural land is increasing nutrient supplies and hence fuelling the increase in their population. The growth of planktons is directly correlated to the temperatures of the water. The warmer ends of water cycles co-incide with a reduction in plankton growth, while abundance is seen higher in the colder regions of water.

Another factor affecting the population of these marine animals can be the huge expansion in open-ocean fishing that has taken place over the century.

Head of the marine programme at the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Carl-Gustaf Lundin, said “Logically you would expect that as fishing has gone up, the amount of zooplankton would have risen – and that should have led to a decline in phytoplankton,”

Whatever the reasons be the presence of these is very essential for the marine ecology. They keeps the oxygen balance of oceans as well, because Photosynthesis by phytoplankton removes carbon dioxide from the air and produces oxygen.

The decrease in their numbers could also further accelerate the warming of temperatures.

The expectation is that RIM and AT & T USA will bring the new device BlackBerry 9800 in the first week of August month The device includes new surface . The BlackBerry 9800 is also features an improved web browser, and a retractable keyboard. During the last year course Rim is losing its market share as android and iPhone are what people are longing for. The company is trying to prove to its critics that the situation was quite obvious to bring the new device into the market to erase previous criticism and to retain the company’s goodwill. Previous criticisms were of the slow Internet browser, the Application Store, and the retrograde touchscreen technology. BlackBerry 9800 whose debut is imminent, it will be a device similar in appearance and “feeling” to the traditional mobile devices RIM, were it not for the presence of a physical keyboard to scroll. Equipped with a touchscreen, the device will offer 4GB of internal memory and a 5 megapixel camera.

On Wednesday, RIM’s share price rose by around 4.5 percent, analysts expect a new Blackberry device by mid-August at the North American market. The BlackBerry 9800 should provide an opportunity to present the long-awaited RIM BlackBerry OS 6. The new operating system relies on a mix between the simplicity of the iPhone and the functions of Android and among the new features a redesigned home screen, universal search, a new music player and integration with major social networks.

Since the presentation of the concept of the Porsche 918 Spyder at the Geneva show, the rumors and unofficial news were widely reported in. Finally, yesterday the official mail has arrived in which it is informed that the Porsche has given the green light to hybrid supercar.

During a meeting of the supervisory board yesterday an already anticipated decision has been taken. A green light has given on the production largely motivated by the overwhelming response which has been generated by the 918 Spyder concepts among both the public and the media worldwide.

“The production of the 918 Spyder in Limited Edition proves that we are taking the right approach with the Porsche Performance Intelligent combining superior performance and efficient engines, said the chairman of the board of Porsche Michael Macht.

Between that, the future Panamera hybrid and all electric prototypes now in testing, Porsche is indeed good way to become the largest manufacturer of environmentally friendly sports cars.

The United Arab Emirates has said that the storage of data by the Research In Motion for its BlackBerry smartphones violates its telecommunication laws that were passed way back in 2007, one of the regulators has said.

In a statement the regulator said to elaborate on this topic “Like many other countries, we have been working for a long time to resolve these critical issues, with the objective of finding a solution that safeguards our consumers and operates within the boundaries of UAE law,”

The Ministry of Information and Culture has penned down a report that clearly states that the BlackBerry devices are the only devices used in the Arabian country that have data managed by a foreign, commercial agency and stored outside of the UAE. The blackberry devices made their appearance in the country before the legislations were passed and so they are the only ones that don’t comply to the norms. According to the repots the blackberrys came in the country in 2006 whereas the regulations came in 2007.

The concerns of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority with the devices are because some of the BlackBerry applications allow people to misuse the service as all the data is offshore and not in the country of its origin, this could cause serious social, judicial and national security repercussions. The Gulf nation wants control over data transfer for security reasons like many other nations like India.

The nation could move in to control some of the applications of Blackberry or at least restrict some of them to prevent any security disaster in the country. The UAE is now working to resolve these critical issues with the objective of finding a solution that safeguards our consumers and at the same time operates within the boundaries of UAE law, so that all parties concerned in this.

Neither of the two parties was available for comment on the issue. Neither was the RIM representatives offering any statement nor could the regulatory officials available.

The online shopping site Amazon has brought about a tool that connects the user’s accounts to their social networking account on Facebook. The move is initiated by the company in order to bring better recommendations of product to the regular buyers of the site.

This is first of kinds for the site that till now used only a person’s purchasing history on its own site as the basis of its recommendations for future shoppings.

But the users need no worry about any of the privacy issues as Amazon has assured that the user’s buying history will not be shared with their friends on Facebook and will be kept a secret. Neither will user’s friends will have to get hassled with any marketing messages. The teaming will work as the e-commerce site will get a feed of all the pages etc that a person has said as ‘like’ on their own profile and serve more tailored recommendations based on those preferences or a person’s choice.

The two sites can be very easily linked together. All a person needs to do for it is to go to the site’s ‘Recommendations’ tab, when he or she logs on to their Amazon account, there one can easily link up the two accounts. Doing so they can take the benefits of being served product recommendations based on their Facebook profile information and also of their friend’s.

Once the two accounts are linked, a user will be directed to a dedicated Amazon Facebook page, which will show your ‘likes’ and any of your friend’s ‘likes’ who have also connected their two accounts.

And its not just the linking up for better shopping, the site will also let users browse upcoming birthdays of their friends and suggest possible presents based on their profile information. Moreover the presents can be bought online itself from the recommendations list further simplifying things at the same time keeping family and friends happy.

Not just this the collaboration also gives us an opportunity to make new friends, Amazon believes that this arrangement will help its customers find new friends while shopping on its website. The people of same interests can be found by the knowing who all other people have interest similar in shopping as yours.
